Global Citizens for Global Health

A Program of Self-Sponsored Global Health Internships

The CSIH Global Citizens for Global Health program is intended to assist students and recent graduates who have not been able to procure a government-sponsored internship and are able to subsidize their own overseas experience. For a modest administrative fee, CSIH will arrange short and long-term work experiences with overseas partner organizations, including international and national health organizations, Canadian and overseas NGOs, UN agencies and foreign Ministries of Health. Participants will make tangible contributions to the strengthening of health systems benefiting children, youth and other vulnerable populations in low and middle income countries (LMICs), while gaining valuable international perspective, organizational awareness and experience in Global Health. Unlike government-sponsored internships, GCGH internships may be used for university or college credit -- with the agreement of the participant’s educational institution.
